Ending period poverty: Galesburg non-profit addresses flow of menstrual supplies to those in need
Period Poverty Awareness Week is May 23-29.
Lee Ann Porter founded Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank in 2015 to address diaper need in her community. Since then, the organization has expanded from the founder’s home to a 5,000-square-foot warehouse serving most of west central Illinois and has distributed 1.5 million diapers to families in need.

Galesburg nonprofit handing out free diapers to parents in need
GALESBURG, Ill. — Update: The next stop is Monmouth Illinois on Tuesday, May 12. With millions laid off, a Galesburg nonprofit is giving back by offering parents free diapers for their children. Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank started handing out free diapers in Galesburg, Illinois on April 20 after receiving $150,000 from the Illinois COVID-19 emergency response fund.
