Diapers in 2019
Period Supplies in 2019
Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank is helping to distribute basic needs such as baby diapers, period products, and adult incontinence products to people in need. Through donations, diaper drives, volunteers, and partners, we are able to make a difference for people living in Knox, Warren, Mercer, Henderson, Fulton, and Peoria Counties.
Most of us do not spend a lot of time thinking about diapers, but they are a big expense for families. Diapers can end up costing a family $80 a month for just one baby, and because diapers aren’t covered by programs like The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) families have to make tough choices about how to spend their limited funds. Families aren’t always able to prioritize diapers over other basic needs and leads to 1 in 3 families experience diaper need.
1 in 4 women have struggled to purchase period supplies this past year. But period supplies are essential for women and girls to fully participate in and enjoy daily life. When other needs have to be prioritized over period supplies, we try to ensure that no woman has to go without or stay home because of that need.
An important part of health for seniors in being involved and surrounded by others. Unfortunately, when seniors have problems with incontinence they tend to stay home so that they don’t have any accidents in public or around friends and family. Adult incontinence products can help ensure that this isn’t a barrier to enjoying time with loved ones while still maintaining their dignity.
